Duckie

What strikes me about this last photo of me on Bourbon Street is that I am really a funny looking little person with chubby nail-bitten child hands and feet that point outwards like Charlie Chaplin's and I say that today with a rush of affection for that duck-kneed middle aged woman whose husband took this photo with the kindest of sight, and even though I don't always stay in that consciousness I really do know in this moment that I am a lucky duck indeed.

  1. I love the photo! You are a beautiful woman and I would not call you middle aged at all. (probably because I don't call myself that and I am 55!) We need to stay in that precious consciousness full time. I am going to put that at the top of list from now on. If nothing changes on the outside, at least I will feel good within and that is the most powerful aphrodisiac there is.....let's fall in love with ourselves!

  2. "Duck!" That's a good one. You're a lovely lady with dancing eyes who is deeply loved by her cavalier. (Well, at least, you can say you were in your environment with our weather having been the way it was.)

These pictures remind me I have to drag myself over to Bourbon Street and take some of my own. Like most natives who don't work there, I haven't been in years.

  8. You look very hot, and cute and mischievous, don't know what you had in mind ; )
As for your hands, I myself suffer from big hands. I once had a guy, a jerk, tell me he couldn't date me anymore because my hands were too big. I told him he had a small child's hand (and probably a small ...)
My hands are like so much bigger than yours (so is the rest of my body so all around you see...)
I love your photos. I'd love to return to New Orleans.

  12. I keep forgetting to tell you how I love your newest profile photo, that we have the total joy of your gorgeous face. You are a lucky duck, most of us are, and that is the very consciousness in which we are well advised to remain. To think contentment is to make it real. And the beauty that beams from you and all your family, the glow of pure love, gladdens my heart every time I visit here. xo

  15. Ms Angella,
These shots are amazing! They are so beautifully composed and yet so candid. Especially love the tuba player!
Isn't it crazy, the way we see ourselves? I don't see duck anywhere when I look at you! I see a natural graceful beauty.

  17. Oh, Angella, some of these just took my breath away. The Foot Locker band! Jackson Square! Was that Fritzels, the Jazz Club, too?

I truly hope you fell in love with the city.
