Womenfolk

The highlight of my week was when six mothers and six daughters got together to celebrate a decade-and-a-half of friendship—among our girls, among ourselves. The college-bound have spent most of this summer strenuously avoiding any thought of leaving, although the first of the girls has to be on campus this weekend. It's an emotional time, but the one thing the girls do not question as they take their leave is that they will continue to be there for one another as sister, therapist, touchstone, friend. Their mothers will, too.

  1. You know, this is an example of true hearts-joining. Yes, of course you know. How precious! What a gift from daughers-to-mothers and back again. And rare.

  3. I love the pictures of mother's and daughters. My oldest granddaughter started high school this week. In four years she'll be heading out. Seems like only yesterday...

  7. I love this. I don't know what I would do without my women friends. Sure men are fun but women have always been my grounding stone.

  9. These are connections that will always, always be. I so enjoyed looking at these pictures. I can actually see the apprehension in everyone's eyes as you all embark on this bittersweet portion of the journey. So much to look forward to, but also so much that is unknown... Hang tight to one another.

Love and big hugs and you watch the first of these baby birds fly:) Sigh............
