These two

These two are in my kitchen, singing in two-part harmony and breaking into laughter at regular intervals. It is the loveliest sound. And last night while we watched the magical foodie movie The Hundred Foot Journey, they baked a cake.

  2. They are darling! I loved that movie -- actually liked it a whole lot more than the other chef movie.

    1. Elizabeth, I really liked the movie, too. It's beautifully filmed, with a kind of glow over it, a la Speilberg, which really brought out the food. And Helen Mirren. She's glorious always.

    2. Amazingly for me, I saw both and so did I.

  3. An appropriate thing to do during that movie! (I haven't seen it yet but I caught glimpses of it on the airplane coming back from the states.)

    1. Steve, I think you and Dave would enjoy that movie, Dave being the foodie that he is!

  4. Love those gorgeous girls! I only had sons. If either of them ever want to come to England, we are only 20 mins away from London on the train, and would love to have them stay with us.

    1. e, the cake was rich and chocolaty with the perfect sweetness, not too much, and the icing was whipped cream icing rather than sugar based icing so it was light and airy. Best of all was watching them work together as they made it.
