Puzzle pieces

We had lots of houseguests over the holidays, cousins from Maryland and from Trinidad, plus friends of my children staying over. This, in addition to actual work and a significant degree of mental numbness (a rather effective way of holding nostalgia at bay), has left me little time or inspiration to process my life enough to write about it. I'm just going along, swept up on a tide of doing the next thing that needs doing, and then the next thing after that. All is well, really. All around me, life is happening. Here's proof.

  4. The words in Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas say,

"One day soon we will all be together, if the fates allow, until then we'll have to muddle through somehow..."

I am glad you muddled through, Dear One.

  5. I second what Mary said. The love and comfort are oozing out of your pictures. I haven't really known what to do with myself lately either, so I just keep loving and cooking and doing things and hoping it's good enough.
Your pictures are divine and you've made me want to pull out a puzzle and immerse myself in the pieces.

  6. There's certainly plenty of life going on there! As others have said, your home looks warm and cozy and full of smiles and love. It may not be a bad thing that you haven't been "processing" -- just going along can be the best approach. Too much analysis can actually cloud the waters, you know?
