My little girls are medium girls now and I'm having a really hard time with that. We are all just walking around with our hearts broken, we mothers. The...Have I heard that "really", you bet!
The hardest email - so far - I received from my then 22 year old daughter from an internet cafe on the Thai-Laos border, wherein she described in great detail her journey of the previous night as the only female passenger in a dilapidated bus full of armed soldiers and one Buddhist monk. When she arrived at her destination before daybreak she was invited for coffee by the scooter taxi boys who saw her waiting in front of the closed cafe. She wrote to complain that she could not sleep on the bus because she sat next to the monk (as per my instructions - when in doubt, always stick to the monks etc.) which meant she could not lift her feet and had to sit upright all night because showing your feet to a Buddhist monk is a cultural faux pas. At least she knew that.
I think I wept for most of the day.Sabinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09015827501648296977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107151958453669111.post-1962911151193011972014-06-06T10:00:31.819-04:002014-06-06T10:00:31.819-04:00How delicious to have all of you and then just the...How delicious to have all of you and then just the pair of you - enjoying the best of all worlds.
