First Response

He's now moved back home after graduating college and will start his EMT/paramedic training next week on September 11. If you know him, and know his inspiration to guard life and limb as a first responder and ultimately a firefighter, you'll understand the symbolism of that date.

  5. Congratulations Mr Gorgeous! I am so impressed with and grateful to your young man and others like him for the work they do. It takes a certain kind of big beautiful heart to walk that path.Good job Mom!

  6. His late grandmother was approached by a man who told her the story of a group of young men who went on a expedition to swim over to a nearby island. Not being a strong swimmer he naturally fell behind and was soon some distance behind the group. One man came back and swam with him to make sure he made it across. It was your son's grandfather. It is good to see that the apple does not fall far from the tree. Even into the second generation.

    1. Dear Bruce, thanks for reminding me of this. When I mentioned it to R. he said Nana had told him the story when he was small and that it has always inspired him! Nana knew the seeds she was planting--and watering. Much much love brother dear.
