It's not that I think he outshone his contemporaries, though I do think his was an original vision, that he had his own way of experiencing art. I also think his tortured artist story makes his work tragically poignant, and I find I am grateful that he managed to make art despite his demons, that his human soul found an oasis of comfort upon those roiling seas.
One of the most memorable exhibitions I have been to was "Starry starry night" at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, an all night event with music and night sky and real full moon light among Van Gogh paintings.
ReplyDeleteJust wonder-full.
ReplyDeleteYour video is magical. I wish Vincent Van Gogh could see it and know that his human soul art continues to make a positive difference to so many human souls, young, old, and in-between.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like an amazing experience. I wonder what Van Gogh would think of this new technology?!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever read Irving Stone's "Lust for Life"? I read it when I was in high school and loved it -- I'm not sure how it fares today in terms of antiquated language or subject matter but it taught me to appreciate Van Gogh and his art.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning video. For some reason the music and visuals brought tears to my eyes. He was such an artist, our lives our so enriched by what he created.
ReplyDeleteVery clever. He's not my favourite artist, I love Magritte, but his work was stunning.
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! I think they are doing this in Miami too, I’m going to check!
ReplyDeleteXoxo
