I had lunch today with an old friend. Without putting her life on blast, let's just say she's going through a lot.
"You know how they say God doesn't give you more than you can handle?" she said as we sat down.
"Well," she continued, "it's a damn lie."
I like this post. It's irreverent and funny. At this point in my life I am absolutely on the same page as your friend. The challenge is to decide what part of you shows up in a crisis. And mostly to be easy on yourself. Yeah, do that at the same time. We can. We have. Now we just need to do.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have you guest blog. What say you?
R- the irony is, even as my friend said this, she was coping. We have no choice but to cope. Sometimes we just have to take it minute by minute and trust, as you say, that something spectacular is on the way. Thanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who's been living that statement for the last several years. Sweetest person who continually gets the hardest knocks. Yet somehow she continues to keep her faith and a positive outlook. I think faith in something bigger than ourselves is key. What else is there to keep us from going crazy?
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's funny!
ReplyDeleteI also love the photo!
