I remember when I used to listen to her first album on repeat. I was in my early twenties, alone in my first solo apartment, and I felt as if she was singing everything I felt, just for me. She was company. Her voice was a marvel. Thank you, Whitney. I was always rooting for you. I hope you are somewhere free.
Some music really is the sound track of our lives.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Isabel x
I have cried some tonite. I loved her since I was a little girl- her music a comfort and joy for me. So beautiful! So talented. So sad.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful photograph of her.
ReplyDeleteWHAT!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words, beautiful voice, beautiful memories.
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised when I heard the news, even though I probably shouldn't have been. Like you, I listened a lot to those songs in the mid-80s. In later years I wished she'd paid more attention to the lyrics of "The Greatest Love of All." But as you say, I guess she's at peace now.
ReplyDeletedrugs and fame seem to be accepted in the entertainment industry. How come they dont screen people for drug like they do for a regular job. too many icons have been lost and nobody speaks out.....Its so so sad. what a loss. Rest in Peace.
ReplyDeleteyes. so, so sad. i remember when i first heard about whitney, described to me as "cissy's daughter". she must have been about 15. lovely, fragile young thing; as the photo shows...
