An extraordinary American

How much do I love Barack Obama? I will never stop missing this man. He just did a blistering drive-in rally in Philadelphia, and I’m reminded that this man is the most gifted politician of our time. He took the gloves off, he called Trump out, and dear God, I’m here for it. He pointed out that not only can we vote the cruel fraudulent president out, in doing so that we can also reclaim the best of ourselves, the best of our nation, the values by which we hope to be defined. As one commentator just said, “Not only does he have that cool factor, he is truly an extraordinary American.”

  1. He has always been a marvelous speaker and I just love to listen to him. I will look for his latest speech... The current prez is such a chump compared to Barack Obama.

  2. I miss that man so much. For eight years I did not spend time on twitter, I did not fret and worry, all because we had an adult in charge. His speech was a barn burner!

  4. I did catch his speech today and it took my breath away. In addition to bringing up some serious shit, he was loose, and funny, with that winning smile. He always looks for the positive, and that's what we need right now.

  6. Thank you for bringing this speech to my attention. His wholehearted presence and vision that is shared by so many is a gift in this treacherous time.

  7. I suppose we have to remember that despite the hell we've been through the last four years, we did have that extraordinary man as our president for eight years. How incredibly fortunate we were. How incredibly fortunate he's still here for our country. He will always, always be my president.

  9. You know, it's interesting. He's been out of office four years now, and his books are STILL super-popular in our library. (As is Michelle's.) They have left a legacy and, yes, they are standout Americans. Oh, for an upstanding leader who can bring us together instead of driving us apart.

  10. I saw the speech---Lord, it's hard to stomach that illiterate moron in the White House, especially following this brilliant man. I miss him.

  11. He is an intelligent man who can speak in full sentences. I miss that. Not to mention his kindness and compassion.

  12. These days, when I think, "Well, they say that all great societies break down after 200-250 years, and we've likely reached our expiration date," I remember President and Mrs. Obama. I know we have great problems; America has never never the bright dream it thought itself -- but we are the home of Barack Obama. We still have potential. (That's not to put too much on him. He's just a man ... but that's part of what makes who he is, how he lives, and what he represents so special.)
