In a month, my children and I are going to Jamaica to see my mom and my brother and his family. I booked the flights this morning. Can't wait. Those intensely red bougainvillea are in my brother's front yard. My Aunt Grace once told me to always book trips well in advance, because then you can add to the excitement of the trip during weeks of anticipation.
I'm with your Aunt Grace on that. Anticipation is the very best part.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, it often is! And the remembering is a close second. We'll have some fun tho. xo
DeleteI'm not a little envious!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, how about you run away with me, just for that week?
DeleteI love travel foreplay. It is one of the best parts of taking a trip.
ReplyDeleteMary, LOL, i believe you've coined a fine phrase.
Deleteone month of foreplay! ha!
ReplyDeleteMaggie, when you put it that way....
DeleteYay! I always thought booking trips in advance was purely an economic strategy -- but you're right, it has an emotional element as well!
ReplyDeleteSteve, I have such a hard time booking trip. I get decision fatigue. But once it's done, I can start looking forward to it, I'm committed. Prices aren't so much lower a month out, though. In fact, sometimes you get better fares to the Caribbean at the last minute. Depends on the season, I suppose.
