It's a gray moody day. I do love listening to the rain on the metal housing of the air conditioning unit outside my window. It sounds like soft rhythmic drumming on an old tin roof—a poetic sound, but lonely.
Love the photo. Those hints of green, being given water by the rain. Here the rain has disappeared but the wind continues to blow. It huffs and dies and huffs again. It is somehow soothing too, yet speaks of places I'll never go.
When you write of rain, I actually miss it! We're so dry and sunny out here right now -- it seems that northern California is getting the El Nino stuff.
Usually I find rain very calming. But I am one of those strange people who doesn't like bright sunlight. I blame my eyes, which are overly sensitive. Gray days and rain are easier on them.
Too much rain for too long a time drives me mad because it means I'm stuck somewhere and I hate that feeling---like being marooned. I like it best when it is soft and gentle and lulls me to sleep.

ReplyDeleteRainy day here in Atlanta too. Love the sound it makes on the roof in my office room.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous. It's been nothing but hot hot hot here.
ReplyDeleteI find rain lonely as well.
