Today would have been my mom's 96th birthday. I will never stop missing her. Today is also the day my Aunt Beryl left us a year ago. Her daughter, Hilary, texted me first thing: "Remembering two beautiful women this morning." I texted back that they are playing bridge in the unseen and smiling on us. I like to think it so.
Happy birthday to your mom -- a great time to remember her. I love the photos, especially the one of you as a baby!
ReplyDeleteYes. That picture of your mama with you is as beautiful a picture as I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteAlso The Surfer's birthday. Makes me proud all around.

A lovely tribute...
ReplyDeleteWe will never stop missIng our moms. Actually, I miss mine more with each passing week. I used to go see a little lady who would walk up and down the hallway of the facility calling out, “Mama?” She was 96 and looking for her mom. It used rom break me a little. I would always tell her that her mama was just out for tea with a neighbor and she would be back soon. It would calm her for awhile then she would look for her again.
ReplyDeleteI am so very glad that you had these women in your life. But I know when you love greatly you grieve just as hard. Or maybe even harder.
A beautiful and loving remembrance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thought! I miss my mom too, it's been 5 years. Much love.

Such love and grace and joy in your tribute and in these family photos.
ReplyDeleteJan 24 is a special day in our family, too. My grandmother would have turned 105. So much love in these photos.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday mama! Those pictures are priceless! Joanne
