I like to ride home through Central Park, watching the trees dance past, the lacy branches like filigree, the sun at a slant, the colors shimmering in the almost night, lending a mystery and otherworldliness that looks nothing like what people imagine when they conjure New York. This is also my city.
they anchor us, don't they?
ReplyDeleteThat's what makes it such a beautiful city- it has EVERYTHING!
ReplyDeleteThese nearly make me cry. I miss New York. I do.
ReplyDeleteAh, I miss Central Park! When my friend Pam and I were walking around Hyde Park the other day, we were comparing the two -- and agreed that although Hyde Park is nice, its openness gives it a far different feel from heavily forested Central Park.
ReplyDeleteThese shots are great!
ReplyDeleteDo you know how crappy my phone shots turn out? Really crappy!!!

Love the photos. Photos taken randomly capture the truth, don't they?
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteFrederick Law Olmstead was truly touched by the divine. Every single space he cultivated has a calming effect on us...just a good man all around, too.
I love this city. More and More. Every time I come back, I love it more.

I love your out the window snaps. Some of my favorite pictures are happy accidents out a window. Isn't it strange, how we want to hold on to the wonderful things we see? I don't trust myself to remember it exactly, so I snap, snap, snap. Thanks for sharing your snaps. I love them.
ReplyDeleteAh, my hometown. Such gorgeous photos. You have a marvelous eye.
