I remember watching a TV adaptation of The Velveteen Rabbit when I was a teenager -- I think it was read or voiced by Meryl Streep -- and I remember being so impressed by this passage. I wrote it down, paraphrased, in one of my journals afterwards.
Perfect. I must read this book (no I haven't!) but in the mean time, thank you for posting this :) I think I can safely say I don't break easily, as much as the darker side of me would try to convince me it is so....
