This photo was taken two and a half decades ago, on our son's first birthday. Our friends in Ft. Lauderdale, our son's godparents, unearthed this slice of history when we visited them last week. I love this photo, my son's intense curiosity for the world, and the pure love and joy on my husband's face, the protective way he holds our child. This boy is a man now. He's going through a lot at this moment, but he's standing firm. May he know his true path and be guided by his angels in its unfolding. Amen.
Beautiful photo! I second your wishes for your son.
ReplyDeleteIf there were ever a more perfect mother-prayer, I've never heard it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful boys.
What a great picture - isn't it nice to see a new shot of people we love (or ourselves) from long ago? I expect your son's already-demonstrated strength will get him through the current rough surf as well as it has in the past, but I echo your prayer.
ReplyDeleteif we could only protect them like that for their whole lives.
ReplyDeleteI see your son as one who is now able to protect others as he was once protected so lovingly in his father's arms. It is touching to see how your son has steadied himself with his left hand on his father's arm. Yes. Guided by angels.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful photo. All the best to your son on his journey.

ReplyDeleteI think I need to adopt this prayer for my own son. Thank you.
Watching our children grow up and become strong and determined adults. What could be heter.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to mother, father abd son. And thanks.
Life has so many twists and turns. May all good things come to your son. Wonderful picture. Susan
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful mother prayer -- may he be well and at peace and doing exactly what he needs to be doing and wants to be doing and loves doing.
