Where I Sat

I sat looking at this wall of water and contemplating my son's arrival back in the States from visiting his girlfriend in England. His dad is at the airport collecting him as I write this, and tomorrow he will be on a bus back to school, and the next day competing in a track meet. Ah, the endurance of youth. The water sounds soothed my noisy brain as water sounds always do. Can't wait to see my boy and his laundry tonight!

  1. I love the sound of water...waterfalls, man made or nature...it is soothing! Happy time with your son returning home even if it is short and he leaves so soon to go to school.

  2. Maybe that is why doing laundry is so soothing- the water sounds.

    1. Ms Moon, maybe. But doing the laundry doesn't work that way for me. Maybe because i leave and them come back for the clothes instead of staying around to hear the water sounds!

  3. I would love that waterfall in my backyard! I remember one just like it in midtown in NYC -- wonder if it's the same. And those colors! Did you "paint" the photo? It's beautiful.

    1. Elizabeth, they have quite a few waterfalls like this in midtown now. One is across the street from my job and i dont know why i dont go and sit next to it more! this one is opposite MOMA. it is beautiful, painted by the Hipstamatic app, not me!

    1. Steve, it is near MOMA. But these fountains are proliferating in midtown.

    1. Gary, we should! even though i am an introvert really, which i have been told is not the same thing as shy. but yes, we should. and this new cool reply thing? it just showed up one day. i assume it will eventually show up for everyone on blogger, kind of the way facebook rolls out its new features. the truth? i prefer the old comments form. much simpler and easier to read and keep track of. but then, i guess i am just resisting change! nice to see you, friend. hope the year is off to a great start for you!
