With the help of the lovely physical therapist, she made it down the stairs and all the way outside yesterday. My brother texted me this photo of my mother, queenly in the great outdoors, basking in the sun. I miss her.
Elizabeth, it is spectacular. And I will accept it just so, instead of in my mind repositioning the chair to a certain spot on the lawn where I would have taken the photo. My mother looks happy in just that spot, and my brother thought to send me the photo, so it is not just spectacular, it is perfect. xxoo
Linda Sue, welcome! I see you over at Steve's all the time, but it's nice to see you here. And yes, my mom has always had a certain elegance. She never even had to try.
What a great shot, surveying the world, being here now and looking so beautiful. I am feeling much the same as you Angella. Missing my own mom and also grateful my brother is close to her and takes care of things... xxoo
Dear Yolie, i know just how you feel. I once told my brother how grateful I was that he was taking such good care of my mom. His response? "Fuck you, it's my mother too." I really loved that. It was so perfect. He is doing it not for anyone but himself, for love.
Oh, how beautiful. I love it that your brother takes the time to share these moments with you, that's not for himself or for your mother, but for you. He's thoughtful.
She's definitely holding court.
ReplyDeleteNancy, isn't she though? And she does it beautifully.
DeleteShe's just so regal. Oh, Angella. Your posts about your mother show me that a daughter can love a mother and I can't say any more than that right now.
ReplyDeleteMs. Moon, i was so moved by your post a little while back about finally being able to think of your mother as the one you wished you had. lovelove
DeleteLooking as if she owns the world! What a great shot. :-)
ReplyDeleteBirdie, i love that my brother bothered to take this photo and send it to me!
DeleteThat's a feat to look so beautiful and otherworldly in front of a bunch of cars. Really. It's just spectacular.
