Day 10

Found on tinybuddha: "We can't control everything. Sometimes we just need to relax and have faith that things will work out. Let go a little and let life happen." I am trying to remember this in the moments, and to be grateful for the rather expert help offered by our children. We have no answers, despite yesterday's blood work and X-rays, and the fierce inquiry of my husband's doctor, a tiny, brilliant woman who is anything but laissez faire. With her on the case, I trust answers are on the way.

  1. I hope the answers come and that your husband feels better.

  2. And sometimes there are no answers and yet we manage to go on. May that good man of yours find some answers and relief SOON, though. I feel sure that he will.

  3. Easy for little Buddha to say...waiting while in pain does not bring about patience or hope - I am so sorry, Of course everyone is thinking of you , sending wishes, but a lot of good that does really. Healing takes it's bloody time! So, like Mr. Rodger's song- Let's think of something to do while we're waiting, while we're waiting, while we're waiting....

  4. When I was struggling with things after spinal surgery last Jan, the trauma surgeon told me:
The thing about the back, it's our weak spot, where things went slightly wrong after we came down from the trees and started life on the steppe. And yet, almost all back pain disappears over time. Seriously.

    Have you seen this:

  6. I am glad he has a good doctor. There is nothing to add to existing pain like feeling one's doctor doesn't really give a hang ...

    Hope the answers come soon.

  7. I have nothing to add. Just that I am thinking about you both and praying that this will be resolved quickly. I know this must be a scary time for you as well. xo

  8. Oh I feel so bad for your husband and you. I pray for relief for him soon. I think I told you I had such an experience. It was the first time I had to miss a job. It was the first time the aging thing really hit me. It was a scary time with the pain and the mental anguish over the fear of not being able to exist without help and being alone. I wish I could do something from all this far away.
