As if they were locked rooms

100 filets by Christine Lebrasseur

"Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."

Rainer Maria Rilke, 1903
in Letters to a Young Poet

  2. deb, Rilke is one of my very favorites. I'm at a pass where this quote applies perfectly. I am trying to love the questions, the things as yet unresolved. the depth of the primary colors in that photo are pretty amazing, too.

  3. I'm fairly certain that the questions are far more important than the answers. If there are, indeed answers.
The older I get, the less sure of that I am.

  4. Perfect for me to read today. Don't we all have those private, locked doors that only we know about?

I agree, the primary colors in that picture is incredible.
