She took out the sheet of paper and read the words, "Congratulations! The admissions selection committee has approved your application..."
She has actually been accepted to three colleges so far. This was the fourth. As she read the letter, this one from Cornell University, tears filled her eyes. She almost couldn't speak. Finally she whispered, "Oh thank God, I have gotten into a school where I want to go."
This was a big day.
Now we can exhale.
I am so very proud of her, so very happy for her, so very moved by the way this works.
Oh, Happy Day! So glad for your daughter. It's worrisome, this college business. We want so much for them, don't we?

ReplyDeleteSo wonderful when those letters start coming! You can see the relief on teens faces as they find out that all the hard work has paid off for them and yes indeed a college wants them. Then the roller coaster begins of the final months at home, getting all the college needs for a dorm and lastly the adventure of moving away....oh I will never forget those times with my daughters.
