Will you still love me if I fail? I just want a yes or no.
I replied:
Yes. Of course I will. Want to talk?
After ten minutes or so, this:
Haha im okay mom, just going into a test. Cant really talk, still got studying to do.
And then a minute later:
Love you tooo
I love that bear! I want one :) She is so sweet asking you if you would still love her even if she fails. She needed the sound of her mother's reassurance.
ReplyDeleteI love that you're checking in every day, here, spinning your life into beautiful prose and photos.
ReplyDeleteYep. You will always love her. And most likely, she'll never test that love by failing.
ReplyDeleteWell, I snag photos off facebook every chance I get. And that bear, it came from coscto, very huggable. And finals and grades? My boy is as concerned and/or worried as I've ever seen him. He texted me and asked to talk when we met for his doctor's appt. and wanted to know if I thought it was a good idea if he quit the golf team because he can't balance sports and academics. My heart was breaking for him, because he chose this school to be on their golf team. He's really struggling with the reading load, and despite our blue ribbon high school is studying for his first cumulative final. All I could do was give him advice, tell him we loved him no matter what he decided and buy him some dinner. He's still trying to figure it out, but is keeping his options open for now. I was proud that he had his priorities straight, but really worried that he is so worried about grades - doesn't bode well.
ReplyDeleteOur kids, if only we didn't worry about them and their futures and their happiness so much! But it's what we do, isn't it?
I'm pretty sure your girl will do just fine.
xo
She looks so happy and whole. I love that.
ReplyDeleteGod, I wish I could curl into a giant teddy bear like that right now. Love that photo. xo
