“It was about connection. It was about looking at another human being and seeing your own loneliness and neediness reflected back. It was recognising that together you had the power to temporarily banish that sense of isolation. It was about experiencing what it was to be human at the basest, most instinctive level. How could that be described as just anything?”

The passage above is actually talking about sex, but I've decided it also works to describe the tensile connections that happen in this virtual place, where I have found so many kind and wild and kindred souls. That armoire, where my laptop sits, is my magic portal.
I get it. Completely.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile!
ReplyDeletei love to see where writers work. your space is so much like you...the grace, the thoughtfulness, the family, an exquisite orchid. beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely. It is a magic portal, a window to connections I could have never imagined.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a dedicated space- I am a nomad with my laptop, following the sunshine as it moves through the house, checking in on my kindred souls too.
xo
It is a magic portal!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of sex, Adam Carolla calls his computer his "magic porn box". Ha.
I feel safe in assuming his computer is in a much less lovely setting than yours!
This connection is so vital.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it's through a computer (magic portal!), then so be it.
Works for me.
Thank you for this!
