Sunday morning with a dear friend at a neighborhood institution |
People sit and write for hours at a time, undisturbed |
The pastries try hard, the atmosphere doesn't |
Two Taurus mothers of Aries daughters |
Across the street, the great unfinished Cathedral |
Weathered murals decorate the outside |
Logos, a good metaphor for the spirit of the morning. |
Sunday morning selfie |
So visually beautiful, this one. The highlight being, of course, the two beautiful women.
ReplyDeleteMary, it was a lovely morning with my friend.
DeleteWhat a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteBirdie, a respite for us both.
DeleteLovely lovely, lovely. And look at you :) Thank you for sharing this morning with us.
ReplyDeleteMel, thanks for being here. You make this place so much brighter. Love.
DeleteYes, you're both so beautiful, such strong faces. And this looks like a place near the Cathedral of St. John the Divine where I used to wander about --
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, it is indeed that place, right across the street from the Cathedral. The Hungarian Pasty Shop is one of the very few establishments that has been there since I arrived in this neighborhood almost 39 years ago now!
DeleteLove!
ReplyDeleteNancy, me too!
DeleteYou and your friend are both beautiful and the Sunday morning selfie, just perfect! Sweet Jo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sweet Jo.
DeleteI've not been blogging for a while (weather!) and when not blogging I tend not to read blogs either so haven't visited for a while. It's a fascinating set of photographs but having not seen the header before - that has really struck me. (And the people writing.)
ReplyDeleteLucy, nice to see you again!
DeleteI think I've been to that place! It was years ago, obviously. Glad to see it's still there and looking quiute colorful and homey. :)
ReplyDeleteSteve, I bet you have been there! It's very humble but rather famous now.
Deleteso simple yet so beautiful
ReplyDeleteCandice, it is that. Thanks!
DeleteSo perfect! Great shots Angella, beautiful light and well.... Taurus women, the bedrock of humanity.
ReplyDeleteYolie, are you Taurus? Why did I think Leo?
Deletei know that pastry place, that cathedral..one of those women.....lovely to see you out and about! (makes me miss NYC something fierce...)
ReplyDeleteSusan, mornings like this one are what make New York City special. Unless we get out and do things like this, it's so easy to forget, because it can be a tough city, too. But I do still love it.
DeleteLovely post. Good to see your radiant face. I can't help but feel that cafe was place of spiritual revival. It is fitting that you were so near to a cathedral. However I pray that mine while bearing the identical name does not get the same ,moniker.
ReplyDeleteDear Bruce, I think the spiritual sustenance in that place is one of the reasons it has lasted so long. As for your Cathedral, never fear, it will be finished in its own sweet time, emphasis on the "sweet." Love to you, brother dear.
