My daughter is nothing if not prepared. She says the deep freeze in the city this week is more bone-chilling than anything she encounters in the frigid north. I have not been outside all week. My family's complaints on returning home have convinced me to pull my sleeves over my hands and relish the great indoors. I am not a recluse exactly. My family is here and friends come by. Into the room they come and go, talking of Michelangelo. (No, not really. But I am wearing the bottoms of my trousers rolled.)
God. Same here. But probably not as bad. Okay. I'm sure it's not as bad.
ReplyDeleteCompared to the rest of Canada it is a island paradise. But I am cold and my feet are always wet from slugging from home to home. So, stay inside if you can. Do it for me. Tomorrow you stay inside for me! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy, your daughter should be a model. Gorgeous. Yes, it is awful here too. I've been trying to get to the post office 3 miles away for 3 days. So far, I haven't made it. I'm hoping to venture out tomorrow. Lucky for me, I got my fill of being out on the big road trip, so five - I think its five - days house bound is ok for me for now. At least until the wind dies down. The trip to the mailbox feels like an Arctic expedition for me. But I will go out again, and to the store, and I will dare to eat a peach and dream of walking on the beach :)
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
I love that picture of her. Freezing here, too. Supposed to get in 10 mile run Saturday in prep for an upcoming half marathon. Not. Gonna. Happen.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds brutal. It is why I don't miss New York. I am all about the weather now. I feel like I'd go mad if it were cold on top of everything else.
ReplyDeleteHello, I have come to read your blog via Ms.Moon after reading your comment there, and thinking what a nice lady you sound like. I have read your posts back to 27 Dec and I was not wrong. You and your beautiful family are a delight to read about. I would read more but the dog needs his morning walk! Here in England ( 25 miles north of London) the temperature this morning is 8c, slightly above normal for the time of the year, but thankfully not raining as it was yesterday. I am so glad that we don't get the cold experienced in US. Your post about the way black cops are treated by their white colleagues horrified me, as does a lot of what goes on in your country. Your son is very wise to try and stay out of conflict. I regularly read a blog of a lady in this country who writes to a prisoner on death row ( can't remember which state) and the way they are treated is inhuman. I am looking forward to getting to know you a little more. Regards from England.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture! I love that parka, with that great swirl of fur. She could be a model. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteStay warm! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of the cold either. I am with you. When it's this cold outside I keep my butt inside the house as much as possible.
