My son has been home since Sunday. He leaves again tomorrow, headed back to college. I had forgotten the simple pleasure of just seeing him around, even if he's too busy with his friends to sit and shoot the breeze much with his parents. It's just nice to see him coming and going, fully engaged in his life. Mostly, he seems happy. That's all we ever want for them, isn't it? Everything we desire for them is in service of happy, even the challenging times that help them appreciate what's good.
Amen! My "little" guy is buzzing around, singing, yelling, chanting.....music to a mother's ears! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou seem like you mother as my mother does - and that is about the best compliment I could ever give anyone.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had him home for a few days. Hope you are all safe and that Irene turns away from your area, I'll be thinking about you this weekend.
ReplyDeleteDear Angella - I love how you love your children and are 'in service of happy.' Thinking of you and your family with Irene bearing down on the East Coast. Keep safe and take best care over there. Much love xo
ReplyDeleteYep. My son has been home all of three days this summer and those days were spent with his friends. He is healthy and happy and he rushed in and out this morning off to work hello goodbye I love you I love you too.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
Stay safe this weekend, dear Angella
ReplyDeleteWhere did the adorable picture of your son in the lake go? I am feeling your heavy heart as your son goes back to school, once again. It isn't easy, this letting go thing. Only the heart of a mother could be strong enough to bear the ache. He will be fine, that wonderful boy of yours, but you, I worry just a little bit about you. Please know that I am here containing a very similar heart and understanding.
ReplyDeleteHow is your mom? And Aunt Winnie? Please stay safe in the storms that are to come. I am worried about my friends and family who live back east. What is happening with this world that we live in???
Sending lots of love and prayers for safety. Please check in when you are able.
