Doll House

My niece went back to the hospital yesterday, fighting it all the way. There is still no sure diagnosis. The doctors are waiting for a test to come back positive or negative, they are waiting. Her parents' hearts are in shreds. Last night, after my cousin left her daughter 's room, after she exited the elevator into the hospital lobby, the sobs burst from her. Where was her husband at that moment, I asked her, hoping in the question that she had some comfort nearby. He was holding her, she said, and he was crying too.

  4. I'm so sorry. The fear for a child, the worst fear. Let us know how she is doing.

  5. I lit a candle for her and you know me- that's my most serious prayer.
I've been holding her in my heart all day.

  8. I had something similar happen with my daughter five years ago. She is fine now, but I am scared it will come back. We don't know for sure what caused it. I have walked in her mother's shoes and my heart breaks for her. Now my mother's dementia is suddenly worse and she is in and out of psychosis. I'm a hot mess, but settling in to my new reality - my mom is not going to get better. So much heart ache in the world, but finding joy is still possible. ~ Your faithful reader and huge fan, Laura
