This guy (Update)

My love hasn't been feeling well, a headache that comes and goes, body aches, and a general feeling of fatigue. It worries me when he admits to not feeling well, because he has to be feeling really lousy to even notice such a thing. Last night he went to bed early for him, and this morning, he went to get a covid test. I am trying not to panic, because he hates that kind of fuss when it's about him, so I'm outwardly functioning as if maybe he caught a cold, or ate something that didn't agree with him. I pray it's just a passing thing. Funny how one's consciousness shrinks to the only essential thing when someone you love isn't feeling okay. It just started snowing.

Update on Jan 27: Test results came in by email at 5 a.m. this morning. My man woke me to let me know that covid was “not detected.” Major exhale. He’s still having the headaches though. Maybe there’s been a change in atmospheric pressure? Or something. Headaches, sniffles, a new ache somewhere, these are the kinds of symptoms we just shrugged off and weathered before the pandemic. Now we self-scan for every change inside the body and wonder what it means. My niece said last night, “You ever wonder if this is how the world ends?” I will admit that all the new and more contagious covid mutations are worrying. We’re not in line for the vaccine yet, so nothing to do but just sit tight.

  2. Here's hoping for a negative test. Every time my throat is scratchy, or I cough, there's the thought; what if it's covid? AZ has totally and completely screwed up vaccinations so we'll be living in this condition for some time. It snowed here this morning - that was weird.

  3. Oh, Lady! I know, I KNOW how it is. I'd tell you not to worry but that would be fruitless. When does he get results?

  7. Sending love your way. I hope he feels better right away pronto. Glad you can get tested there and I hope you can get vaccinated soon. Like AZ we haven’t seen them especially in our little rural county. Bah.

  12. So glad to hear that at least the test for covid was negative. I think these times take a lot out of us, even if we are comfortable and don't struggle financially. And often, our bodies pick up stress in ways we don't expect.

  16. So relieved to know it's not covid. Best news of the morning. I have wondered the same as your niece. I don't think this is how it ends, but I do think it's going to go on a long time, and we will be changed forever.

  17. good to hear it was negative. and I get it. every headache, every tired feeling, every cough. it is such a heinous disease. and once you recover, many people have continuing serious problems. I don't know if it will end the human population on the world but it could possibly reduce the population significantly. I wonder how people are going to react if and when we can get out and mingle and get close and physically socialize, if we will rush into it and embrace it or retain some reticence.

  18. Great news! And yes, any new ache or sniffles won’t be felt with the casualness of the past. I too wonder at times if this is the beginning of the end. Stay safe and hope your turn for the vaccine comes very soon. My husband and I just got our first shot last week. Much love.
