  5. Radish King, yes yes yes!

Ms. Moon, it did that. it certainly did.

Melissa, you said it exactly: it is their passion that grabs you and doesn't let go. they are the truest artists.

thank you all for appreciating this. i'm having such a hard time deciding which pictures to put up. there are so many that move me. and i'll have to find pics of the dance that the young photographer, eric lee, was in. It told the story of a couple getting the letter saying he had been called to the frontlines of war. it was called dear mr johnson and it was heartstopping. but of course, he couldn't photograph himself, so i am waiting for the school to post it's official pics of the night, and then i'll grab one of those!

  9. I have been here and now returned...
I think there is something so vulnerable and brave when teenagers are able to express themselves through dance like this.

You must have felt as transported as no doubt they did.

  15. Rotton Mom, yes, i confess, my chest is very high.

ellen, i may post more when the school puts up their official shots. stay tuned.

deb, transported is a very good word. i was indeed.

Olga, their art stopped me in me tracks. thanks for appreciating them.

mouse, the young man who took these photos, eric lee, is a senior at the school, and a dancer and choreographer himself. his hip hop-inspired dance, called "Whatta Crew" was all male, and it brought down the house!

    Elizabeth, and went to heaven!

Claire, ah, how wonderful that their expressions moved you. Their young faces were something to behold. such commitment. such passion. It was extraordinary to be there.

  16. Dear Angella,

My youngest daughter is a dancer so looking at these wonderful photos made my heart swell, too. You captured the beauty and the artistry of these wonderful kid's spirits. I can imagine the movement and the passion and the story behind the dance. All so beautiful. All so beautiful.

    Love and hugs,
    Debbie
